“The Incredibles 2” smashes box office record

Pixar will certainly be celebrating today after their latest animated feature, The Incredibles 2, smashed the opening weekend box office record for an animated film. The previous record holder was Pixar’s own Finding Dory, which took home an impressive $135 million domestically back in 2016, but The Incredibles 2 managed to rake in $45 million more, topping out at $180 million for the two days.

Those are some seriously impressive figures. What’s more, according to CNN, it also achieved the second-biggest June opening of all time, falling behind 2015’s Jurassic World. That also means it’s the eighth best debut of all time. Not bad, not bad at all…
