Straight off the back of Hereditary, which was “scientifically proven” to be the scariest film of 2018, film studio A24 has released a terrifying trailer for The Hole in the Ground.
It tells the story of a mother and her young son as they build a new life for themselves, escaping to the fringes of a backwoods rural town to forget their broken past. All seems to be going well until “a terrifying encounter with a mysterious neighbour shatters her fragile security, throwing Sarah into a spiralling nightmare of paranoia and mistrust, as she tries to uncover if the disturbing changes in her little boy are connected to an ominous sinkhole buried deep in the forest that borders their home.”
The film has been directed by Lee Cronin, and will premiere at Sundance Film Festival before being available in cinemas from 1 March. Watch the trailer above!
