The Lion King has become the latest film to receive a live-action makeover from Disney.
Directed by Jon Favreau (The Jungle Book), it stars Donald Glover in the lead role as future king Simba, Beyoncé as Simba’s friend/love interest Nala, and James Earl Jones (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) will reprise his iconic performance as Simba’s wise and loving father, Mufasa. Comedian and late night show host John Oliver will also be making an appearance as Zazu the hornbill, while Seth Rogen will voice Pumbaa the warthog alongside Billy Eichner as Timon the meerkat.
Plot wise, things will remain more of less the same, just this time around it’s all going to look a little bit more realistic. Release is set for 19 July, 2019. Watch the teaser above!
