Directed by Sasha Waters Freyer, Garry Winogrand: All Things are Photographable is the first ever documentary about one of the world’s most renowned street photographers.
“Decades before digital technology transformed how we make and see pictures, Garry Winogrand made hundreds of thousands of them, creating an encyclopedic portrait of America in the process,” reads the synopsis. “When he died suddenly at age 56 in 1984, Winogrand left behind more than 10,000 rolls of film – more than a quarter of a million pictures! Forged by his own words and images, Garry Winogrand: All Things are Photographable is a stunningly intimate portrait of a man who both personified his era and transformed it.”
A limited theatrical release in the US is set for 19 September. Watch the trailer above!
I hope the UK will get a fighting/dancing chance to delve into Garry’s life.
