The first trailer has just been released for the directorial debut from actor Paul Dano. Named Wildlife, it’s an adaptation of Richard Ford’s acclaimed novel of the same name and follows a typical 1960s household in America who go through some radical family changes when the dad, Jerry (Jake Gyllenhaal), loses his job and decides to help fight the forest fires nearby. Leaving his wife (Carey Mulligan) to fend for herself, Joe, their son, is forced to become an adult as he “witnesses his mother’s struggle as she tries to keep her head above water”.
The film has already gained plenty of attention and positive reviews on the festival circuit, so this is definitely one to check out when it hits cinemas on 19 October.
