The 30-year-old travel YouTuber Ryker Gamble has sadly died after falling from Shannon Falls, the third-tallest waterfall in British Colombia, Canada.
The vlogger ran the popular channel High On Life, which currently has just under 500,000 subscribers. “We post weekly videos to inspire our viewers to get out and explore the world,” reads the bio. “Follow our journey and learn how to do the same!”
Gamble was one of three people confirmed dead by federal police, according to Associated Press. Reports suggest that the trio has been swimming in a pool at the top of the waterfall, before venturing out and walking along a ledge at the top of the falls, before falling approximately 100 feet.
Gamble’s partner, Alissa Hensen, has taken to Instagram to post a moving tribute:
Honestly, the world is probably a better place without him in it.
Sadly? These people damage US National Parks for views. Extreme trash shit.
Ryker was an inspiration and I appreciate you sharing this story with us. Alissa’s response is powerful, beautiful and heartbreaking. I can’t believe there are posts here from haters; were they to embrace the positive examples shared here, the world would absolutely be better for everyone.
Her response was a copy and pasted thing someone else wrote.
